Dato che è ufficialmente la fine dell'estate (segnata dal ritorno del Pumpkin Spice Latte), ho voluto riflettere sul mio tempo come stagista KBMax.

Durante la scuola, ti viene costantemente detto che hai bisogno di uno stage per mostrare ai potenziali datori di lavoro che hai esperienza nel mondo reale, ma come ho imparato durante il mio periodo alla KBMax, è molto più importante di questo motivo. A scuola hai progetti di gruppo, hai compiti e altri mezzi per insegnarti certe abilità, ma c'è qualcosa che si perde nella traduzione. Certo, so come lavorare all'interno di una squadra e riferire ciò che ho realizzato, ma è diverso farlo per la scadenza di un insegnante rispetto a farlo per la scadenza di un cliente. Non posso sottolinearlo abbastanza, specialmente per tutti gli studenti o futuri stagisti che potrebbero leggere questo: l'esperienza in un'azienda sarà lo strumento più utile che puoi acquisire. Per questo motivo, il team dell'azienda che ti aiuta in questa esperienza è quello che conta di più. Questa squadra ti aiuterà a insegnarti e a guidarti mentre impari, quindi è importante scegliere con saggezza. 

My experience over the course of this summer has been such a positive and unique experience. I have always felt that I can turn to the others at this company to be able to help and guide me, and the lessons I’ve learned from them have been invaluable. They have taught me examples of effective communication, planning and work ethic that contribute to an efficient and healthy workplace. They have constantly involved me in various projects, giving me every opportunity to learn and succeed. Because of the casual and friendly working environment, I was able to develop connections with most of the people at KBMax as well. I always felt that rather than just being “the intern,” I was a respected member of the team. I was always free to express my ideas, ask questions, and voice my opinions (for better or for worse) that were always treated with respect. It has been such a wonderful experience, and I sincerely hope that now that my time here is done, that it won’t be the last time I interact and work with this fantastic team.
